For Tessa

Hello human life forms!

Tessa has been begging me for this, so here it is her song, in my opinion!!

....Except I couldn't think of one..... (DON'T HURT ME)

I randomly thought of Ari's so.... Just wait until I stumble upon one...

So, instead, is simply a message for Tessa in the form of a song:

Re: Broken Skies

I (luckily) received an ARC from Theresa Kay for her novel Broken Skies (for an honest review) and let me tell you, it was wonderful.
This is the GoodReads page of the bookand here is how you can buy it online. (b/c you should buy it and leave an honest review of the book. It helps everyone {and more people will fall in love with it that way})
 {What I just posted was my GoodReads review. This, if you have read any of my previous reviews, will be more babble-y and strange. Hey I must keep up my rep, okay?}
As always, anything like this contains (slight)spoilers.

Anyway, the blurb;
Thirty years ago, civilization collapsed. Few survived.
Ten years ago, the aliens arrived…and stayed.
One year ago, I killed two men and went a little crazy.
Today, the aliens took my brother and I will do anything to get him back.

In seventeen-year-old Jax Mitchell's world, humans are nearly extinct and alien settlers have arrived.

Until recently, the E’rikon have remained segregated in their city and ignored the few humans who have tried to engage them… but now they have taken Jax’s brother. To rescue him, she forms an uneasy alliance with a teenage E’rikon left stranded in the woods. She agrees to guide him to the city if he sneaks her past the human-proof barrier. Too bad it’s not that simple.

Jax, who cannot stand to be touched, finds that’s she’s drawn to the alien boy with bright green hair and jewel-like scales down his back. And he’s equally affected by her, the courageous redhead with haunted eyes. But she doesn’t know the alien’s true motives and he has no idea that she is much more than she seems.

In this world where alien and human are at odds, the connection forming between the two has consequences. What started off as a rescue mission sets a chain of events in motion which threatens not only the remaining humans and the growing alien society, but Earth itself.

My rating out of 5;  4.75
My reason for it not being 5/5, you ask? I think Jax could have gone deeper into Lir and Jace's minds. Seen the truth...

Random sentences explaining my emotions
Prepare yourself for the biggest book hangover of you life.
I can't think of things to say in a proper way after finishing this book. My mind is melted, in a good way.
Utterly brilliant and unbelievably amazing, this book will make itself a new home on your favourite shelf.
I can't think in coherent sentences anymore.  Brain=mush
The twists that happen in this book are not only surprising and unusual, but they leave you wanting more and in all honesty they hurt.

Jax herself is so broken, yet strong and willful. She's not to be messed with and she falls apart. She isn't a 'three dimensional' character, she's an enigma of reality. She shows that people can break under simple things (her case when touched) but she shows that people can fix themselves with a little help. She needs other people to help her no matter how hostile she is to people in general. Jax embodies the broken mind of someone fighting to be whole again. She's a badass without meaning to be, and lives in extremes. Jax is a real character with real and confusing emotions.
 Lir

Jax's (the books narrator) views on people gave me the impression of how people seem in real life. They way that every character is written is simply beautiful.

Personally, I would have liked if Jax had been angrier at Jace towards the end. I think it would have been a bit more realistic. I know she wasn't acting how she was before with him, but I felt like more anger would have been appropriate.

Ari

Also if you ever wanted to know what I think of Ari then here it is:

Rule no.1: She is awesome.

This is what I think her theme song for life is... (at least when she's being herself this is what I think of)

A message to Ari now:

See you guys soon, if I'm not dead!

Schedule and Life

People of Earth and the Internets,

I apologise for my absence. Although in future I will not be apologising because I was busy due to life and I will not apologise for that. I will try to post a review this weekend, I just finished a book so I will start writing it soon!

You guys should know also that all three of the crew here will be going on holiday on the 21st of April so we won't be posting that week. I will do my best to post a review at least once a week with maybe a few fun things dotted here and there. I also need to tell you guys that I will hopefully be working over the summer on placements and stuff so there won't be too much from me then. I have a portfolio to prepare for college for December too.

I am currently reading Tempest by Julie Cross and I will then be reading Lost Worlds by Andrew Lane. The review this week will be of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell! I will tell you now, ah-mazing!

Thank Naminé
